Sunday Post. It's the Happiest Season of the Year

Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews.
Long time, no see, right? I can't remember the last time I joined Sunday Post. Although I always try to catch up with everyone's week every Sunday. 😊 December has just arrived - I'll be decorating our Christmas tree today (my cats will keep throwing it to the floor, but I have to do it) - and in no time we will be celebrating 2020. Time does love to fly, doesn't it?

What happened in November:

πŸŽ„ I did join NaNoWriMo, but my life has been so complicated that I did not have the time to write more than 3k words. I lacked the inspiration to write... Where are my muses?!
⛄ In order to feel less overwhelmed and to relax, I decided it was time to embrace Netflix again. I started watching Jane The Virgin (it's so funny) and I can official say that I hate Christmas romances (The Knight Before Christmas was awful).
πŸŽ„ After struggling with having ideas for my project/final essay, I think I finally had an epiphany last Friday and today I'll attempt to work on it.
⛄ Sadly, I wasn't selected for the fellowship I applied. I'll try again next year... Never give up, right?
πŸŽ„ After crazy month, Becky @ A Fool's Ingenuity warmed my heart. I've no words to explain how much what she wrote meant to me. πŸ’›
⛄ I added a new design to my Redbubble store. Everything is 25 to 60% off, if you would like to get yourself something or buy some Christmas gifts.
πŸŽ„ In November, I read four books: Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Genevieve Tucholke, Darkness Before Dawn by J.A. London, Blood Heir by AmΓ©lie Wen Zhao and A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn. Even though I only read four books, I did finish my Goodreads goal.

  • In the beginning of the month, I compiled a long list of young adult spooky reads. If you're still missing Halloween, you should take a look.
  • I finally shared my long overdue review of The Never Tilting World by Rin Chupeco. As I mentioned before, I was supposed to have shared it as part of a blog tour hosted by The Flying Book Club. However, the book arrived a week before my spot and then I got sick...
  • There was a huge controversy around Blood Heir by AmΓ©lie Wen Zhao, but I did give it an opportunity and it has become one of my favourite books of the year. You can read my review here.

No, I'm not in a book buying ban. I just haven't bought many books lately (I'm actually saving to the Giveaway that you will find later today on my Twitter). Yesterday, I found a very nice promotion at Kobo and I could not resist buying these two books: The Familiars by Stacey Halls and Lost for Words by Stephanie Butland. Together they cost me 2,99€. A good deal, right?

Wishes of a Happy Week!

  1. Congratulations on meeting your GR goal. That's impressive considering all the things you had going on. Gold star for you! Sorry about the fellowship, but hooray for inspiration. I watched Jane the Virgin, when it first ran. The show was very funny.

  5. I've been curious about Jane The Virgin! Glad you're enjoying it.
I must admit though that I LOVE cheesy awful Christmas romance movies especially of the Netflix variety! Knight Before Christmas (or whatever the title is) is on my watch list, lol.

I'm not decorating until next weekend (otherwise the tree will shed all it's needles before Christmas and look awful) but I'm looking forward to it!

  9. Woop! It's always exciting when you meet your Goodreads goal! I set the bar really high for myself this year (500), and I'm 40+ books behind schedule, haha. It may have been a little overly ambitious. ;) I read a lot of comics, so the number seemed doable in January. I'm sorry you didn't get your fellowship! Maybe something better will come along. <3

PS - The Goodreads and Twitter icons on your blog aren't working!

  10. Congrats on reaching your Goodreads goal. I'm not going to make mine.. but I'm not going to waste my time feeling bad about it! I figure moving two times in a year is reason enough not to be able to reach my goal. Better luck next time right?!
Have a great week and happy reading!

  12. I'm usually all for Christmas movies, but the recent releases are not great. I think I'll stick to the classics.
    Have a great week!
