TTT. 2018 Releases I'm Dying to Get My Hands On

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by  The Broke and the Bookish
I haven't participated in this meme for a really long time (almost an year), but after reading this news, I decided that I didn't want to end the year without joining Top Ten Tuesday for a last time. Also, I couldn't lose the opportunity to effusively talk about releases that I can't wait to get my hands on.

As I found too arduous to only choose ten books [there are so many book releases I'm looking forward], I divided my choices in three categories: Leading Ladies, Retellings & Follow-Up.
Sky in the Deep by Adrinne Young. A Viking-inspired world and a kick-butt heroine (and a hate-to-love relationship) are all the reasons I need to add this book to my wishlist. Also, Roshani Chokshi and Renee Ahdieh gave it some ravingg reviews, so it's a must read.

Merry Christmas! Feliz Natal!

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!
I hope Santa brings you all the books you are waiting for.

Sunday Post. It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Sunday, 24 December 2017

Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews.
It's the most wonderful time of the year. These last days, I end up finding my self mumbling Christmas carols at all time. Usually, I'm like the Grinch (since I discovered the truth about Santa, Christmas was never the same), which makes it weird. I blame the radio stations and all the Christmas adds on TV.

What happened in my life this week:

🎄Free week thanks to the holidays!
🎄Lots of back pain. I think too much stress is messing my up my health.
🎄Finished The Bear and the Nightingale. LOVED IT SO MUCH! I need more books like this in my life (any recommendations?).
🎄CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!
🎄Since this is a time to give, I raided the closets and just gave away four bags of clothes.
🎄Christmas photo shoot with the kittens (I'll share them with you later). All I've to say is: Gizmo needs to become a cat model.

A Book Lover Christmas Gift Guide

Wednesday, 20 December 2017

Disclosure: Unless mentioned the otherwise, I'm not an affiliate/rep for any of the businesses mentioned below.
Christmas tree, Christmas decorations, Christmas songs, wrapped up presents, candy canes and chocolate boxes... Can you believe Christmas is just a few days away?

It feels like not too long ago there I was planning my reading list for January and now here I'm freaking out because Christmas is here and I still haven't worked on my dissertation as much I had hoped for! Anyway, this post is not about how fast time goes by, but about Christmas gifts for book lovers.

If you're a last minute shopper, here are some recommendations for that friend that always brings a book with her/him everywhere he/she goes. Or maybe you can buy a little something to yourself.

Waiting on Wednesday. Heart of Iron

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week on WoW is Heart of Iron by Ashley Poston. Look at this beautiful cover! *.* And, the premise is so alluring: "a girl without a past, a boy without a future". 💗 Since I read the Starbound trilogy that I've been trying to read more sci-fi (any recommendations?) and Heart of Iron reminds me so much of it. I can't wait to get my hands on this beautiful book, which will be released on February 27th 2018.

Blog Tour. Hinder

Tuesday, 19 December 2017

Welcome to Hinder Blog Tour, my last blog tour of the year. In Kristin Ping's debut novel, we're introduced to a world of magic, fantasy and forbidden love.

Title: Hinder (Guardian of Monsters #1)
Author: Kristin Ping
Published: May 15th 2018

"Ethan Sutcliff seems like a normal seventeen-year-old—at least that’s what he’s trying to portray. In a secret society run by the Supernaturals, Ethan is what witches call a Bender. Benders are Witches’ Guardians, who are able to control a witches’ ability, bend it, or move it away from harming humans. In Ethan’s case, he is able to bend the Earth element. But at the age of fifteen, he lost all connection to it, and the reasons behind it could only mean one of two things: His Wielder is either dead, or hiding out somewhere.

Alex Burgendorf has been living in her aunt’s locket for the past sixteen years with her mother—a Fire Wielder, and her father—a Water Wielder. For sixteen years, her parents vowed to protect her, and they have, as she is the last Earth wielding witch. However, time is running out. Alex must find her Bender, or the fate of the Supernaturals might be at stake."

Sunday Post. Welcome to My Lovely Secret

Sunday, 17 December 2017

Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews.
I'd like to introduce to you the new My Lovely Secret. 🎉 What do you think of it? I thought it was time for another change (I gave my blog a makeover a few months ago). I did like the black/white template, but I felt something was missing - especially after visiting so many beautiful book blogs that made me feel ashamed of mine. I still have to change a few things, but, so far, I'm quite happy how it turned out.

What happened in my life this week:

🌻 As mentioned, new blog template.
🌻 Finally had day light to take a few #bookstagram photos.
🌻 Joined an international bloggers chat community created by Evelina @AvalinhasBooks. If you are from the group and are wondering why I don't interact much it's because I have social anxiety and even online it's awkward to talk to people for me.
🌻 My Black Friday/Cyber Monday orders finally arrived. So many books!!! 💗
