Sunday Post. Santa is Coming to Town!

Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews.
Can you believe that in three weeks times those who celebrate Christmas will be actually celebrating it? And that in one month we will be in 2019?! 😮 Where did time go?! *freaking out internally* As you'll be reading next, in November I didn't read as much as I hope to (even though three books had more than four hundred pages). Between joining NaNoWriMo and reliving my childhood Spyro, I didn't pay much attention to my books (or my thesis). Let's hope December is different because there are still so many books I want to read before the year ends. Oh, and pages for my thesis that I want to write...

Sunday Post. Release the Dragons!

Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews.
There's a Portuguese expression that describes perfectly my week: I died to the world (I'm not sure if this translation makes sense). This week between NaNoWriMo (which I'm taking a break from because I've Carpal tunnel syndrome and its affecting me a lot writing so much every day. Or maybe I'll just write 1k words per day), playing Spyro Reignited Trilogy (I can't believe the game is finally here) and a few other things that kept me too busy, I have stayed inside my cocoon. I know it isn't good for my mental health so much time away from the "real world", but I'll be ready to face it this week... I promise!

Book Tag. Spyro aka The Purple Dragon is Back!

This tag was created by me. All images belongs to Insomniac Games and Toys For Bob.
Happy release to Spyro Reignited Trilogy! I missed this Dragon purple so much. The worlds from these games are magical -the settings, the colours, the plot, the missions/puzzles, the gems, the characters and Sparx. Everything is PERFECTION! I received my copy yesterday (along with the cutest Funko) and so far I've loved everything about it. Well, Spyro felt really heavy on the flight level and the animatics from the soldiers in Peace Keepers are missing something. But I don't care. To celebrate the release, I created a Spyro Book Tag. Even if you never played the game, you can join because it's all about books.

Sunday Post. NaNoWriMo

Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews.
As the title says, last Wednesday, I finally joined NaNoWriMo. However, I'm not stressing myself  about reaching  the 50K words. All I want is to write down this story (I've been outlining it since August). I don't want to skip scenes only to reach the daily word count. If I've to rewrite a scene, I'll rewrite it now without worrying that I'll be cutting words. I'm not even worrying about that my English isn't good enough to write a novel! It has been different experience from last year's NaNoWriMo. And, now, you're probably wondering where my thesis fits in the middle of all this? Well, I wrote two pages this week... Not bad for someone who is so unsure of what she's doing. *hides in the shame box*

ARC Review // The Girl King

Author: Mimi Yu
Publisher: Gollancz
Published: January 10th 2019
Pages: 400 pages (Kindle Edition)

"A girl king without a crown; a boy wolf without a pack; a new Empress without control: their paths will clash in this sweeping YA fantasy of privilege, power and the weight of history.

Princess Lu has long expected to become the dynasty's first 'Girl King' - so she is dismayed when her father announces her betrothal to her cousin Set and names him the next emperor. Lu needs an ally - and an army - if she is to have any hope of reclaiming her birthright.

Nokhai was the lone survivor when his family of wolf shapeshifters was slaughtered by the empire. Nok never learned to shapeshift, until the same night he encounters the fleeing Princess Lu and their fates become ensnared.

Lu's younger sister Min finds herself Empress to the new Emperor Set. But Min harbours a sinister power, one that could be the key to securing Set's reign and merging the old magics with the empire's modern military might. . .

Sunday Post. The Month After Halloween

Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews.
Is October already over? Has another Halloween come to an end? Can you believe there're less than two months until Christmas? CAN YOU BELIEVE SPYRO: REIGNITED TRILOGY WILL BE RELEASE IN NINE DAYS?! *takes a deep breath and calms down* How's everyone doing? Has November been nice to you? I've been in one of my moods, but I'm trying not to fall into the dark. I really wanted to join NaNoWriMo this year, but I can't decided which WIP I want to work on and I've my thesis to write. Life decisions... Anyway, today I'm sharing a monthly recap and I'll try focusing on all the positivity.
