Waiting on Wednesday. The Last Namsara

Wednesday, 27 September 2017

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
This week on WoW is The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli. I know this is terrible, but, once again, I fell for a cover long before I fell for the summary -I only fell for the summary after reading the word "dragons". And, how can I ignore a book with dragons? I just can't! Thus, I can't wait to get my hands on this novel. The book will be released on October 3rd.

"In the beginning, there was the Namsara: the child of sky and spirit, who carried love and laughter wherever he went. But where there is light, there must be dark—and so there was also the Iskari. The child of blood and moonlight. The destroyer. The death bringer.

These are the legends that Asha, daughter of the king of Firgaard, has grown up hearing in hushed whispers, drawn to the forbidden figures of the past. But it isn’t until she becomes the fiercest, most feared dragon slayer in the land that she takes on the role of the next Iskari—a lonely destiny that leaves her feeling more like a weapon than a girl.

Asha conquers each dragon and brings its head to the king, but no kill can free her from the shackles that await at home: her betrothal to the cruel commandant, a man who holds the truth about her nature in his palm. When she’s offered the chance to gain her freedom in exchange for the life of the most powerful dragon in Firgaard, she finds that there may be more truth to the ancient stories than she ever could have expected. With the help of a secret friend—a slave boy from her betrothed’s household—Asha must shed the layers of her Iskari bondage and open her heart to love, light, and a truth that has been kept from her.

    1. Thank you. The blurb sounds great too -however, I have read few reviews where it's pointed out that the main character is entitled and that isn't something I appreciate in a MC (or in any person I've do deal with).

      Happy readings! ;)

  8. I really want to read this book too! It sounds epic. Well, I don't really know much about it either. But my bookish buzzword is also DRAGONS, so I'm automatically IN. What a lovely blog header you have! I really love it. I can't wait to read this book, and I'm glad that the release date is not THAT far away. I just need all of the books in the world right now! There are so many great releases!

    1. The word DRAGONS means insta-read for me. As soon as I know there are dragons in a book, I'm in too. I don't need to know anything else. Dragons is enough! =P There are many great releases, but sadly little money and little time to read all of them - I need a timeturner.

Awww, thank you. <3 Happy readings, Sophie. :)
