Sunday Post. NaNoWriMo

Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews.
As the title says, last Wednesday, I finally joined NaNoWriMo. However, I'm not stressing myself  about reaching  the 50K words. All I want is to write down this story (I've been outlining it since August). I don't want to skip scenes only to reach the daily word count. If I've to rewrite a scene, I'll rewrite it now without worrying that I'll be cutting words. I'm not even worrying about that my English isn't good enough to write a novel! It has been different experience from last year's NaNoWriMo. And, now, you're probably wondering where my thesis fits in the middle of all this? Well, I wrote two pages this week... Not bad for someone who is so unsure of what she's doing. *hides in the shame box*

What happened this week:

🍁 I created  my first ever book aesthetic and it was for my NaNoWriMo project. Can you guess what my WIP is about?
🍂 #Mythothon Update. Finished two prompts: Artemis (The Girl King by Mimi Yu) and Aphrodite (The Architect of Song by A.G. Howard). This week, I'm hoping to read Paper Girl by Cindy R. Wilson for the Hades prompt.
🍁 Since I'm talking about books I've been reading, this week I was angry at myself for being a slow reader (okay, for being a slower reader than I usually am). In three weeks, I only read three books. Then, I realized the three books I read had more than 400 pages. This discovery brightened up my day. 😋
🍂 Two more days until I get my hands on Spyro: Reignited Trilogy! Or maybe I'll get it tomorrow because I received an update from the e-store I bought it and they told me that my order is ready to ship. *fingers crossed* Throwback post in which I first talked about how much this game means to me.

The Purple Dragon is Back!

ON THE BLOG
  • This week I only shared my review of The Girl King by Mimi Yu. If you love a fierce girl that doesn't bend her knee to the patriarchal order then this book is for you. This novel also features a heartbroken shapeshifter and a world of gods and magic.

📚 MINI BOOK HAUL 📚

This week I finally used my Kobo voucher. I'm proud to tell you that I restrained myself and I only bought one book. Yet. I picked Autonomous by Annalee Newtiz. I only noticed now that a lot of people DFNed it. But the summary seems so intriguing. Have you read it? What did you think of it? I also received some books for my thesis that I ordered a few weeks ago, but I'm not featuring them - not only because they were too damn expensive, but also because they have the potential give me a headache.

Happy week Book Dragons!

  1. You did such a good job on your book aesthetic. I love it! You WIP looks a little dark. I'm reading Paper Girl this week too. I hope it works out for both of us.

  2. Good luck with NaNoWriMo! I got roped into doing it by a friend. I'm not a writer but I've managed to cobble a rough outline together and I'm flying by the seat of my pants! Although, I'm awful at keeping up with the twitter updates or tracking my word count! lol

Two pages for your thesis is better than no pages. Keep pulling it together, one page at a time, and one day it'll be done! :)

    1. Thank you. <3 Good luck with NaNoWriMo too. I'm not a writer either, but the fact that we created an outline is a huge step. Because of the outline, when I take my time to write, I know most of the scenes I want to put on paper.

*fingers crossed* I just really want to be over with this thesis.

      Happy readings, Nicci! ;)

    1. Thank you. I joined NaNo pretty late, so I'll not be writing 50K words this year. However, I'm hoping to keep writing in December and try to finish my WIP. Maybe we can encourage each other?

      Aww,thank you. <3
