Sunday Post. Good Morning Book Lovers

Sunday Post
Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviews.
Good morning book lovers! How is everyone doing? 😊 It has been a while since I joined this meme (I was going to join it last week, but I was part of a blog tour). However that doesn't mean I've much to share. A few stressful days here and there, some sleepless nights because of the warm weather and lots of struggling to tackle down my book pile. But shall we talk about happier things?

These past weeks in my life:

🌻 This is actually not very happy, but I've been struggling to find time to blog. Working, studying and blogging doesn't blend too well. I really need to manage my time better.
🌻 I think I'll be defending my thesis in the end of the month - still waiting for a confirmation letter.
🌻 One week ago (on the 7th), I celebrated my birthday! 🎉
🌻 I'm finally back watching TV series. I can't say I have been binge watching it, but I'm currently watching the third season of Stranger Things and I'm loving it.

  • This was actually one of my favourite book tags so far. I had so much fun joining the Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag. Of course, it was very difficult to narrow down my answers only to one book for each prompt (clearly, I didn't do it), but gushing about the few books I've read so far this year was a blast.
  • I shared my second quarter reading and blogging update. I'm actually proud with my progress. I have wrote many discussion posts and even though I haven't been reading much I'm slowly reaching my reading goals.
  • THERE IS STILL TIME TO JOIN THE GIVEAWAY (US only, sorry). Now that this is off my chest, last week I joined the Spin the Dawn Blog Tour, hosted by The Fantastic Flying Book Club. Spin the Dawn is one of my favourite books of 2019, so I must warn you that my review contains a lot of fangirling.

Since I still had some money to spend from a Kobo voucher that I got a long time ago (not sure how I restrained myself and didn't spend it as soon as I got it), this week I bough two books: Garden of Thorns by Amber Mitchel, which I had been eyeing for more than half an year, and Stolen Enchantress by Amber Argyle, a retelling of The Pied Piper and Beauty and the Beast. Have you read any of these?

Have you been enjoying July? Did you get yourself some shiny new books?

  1. OMG the books you bought are freaking gorgeous! 😍 For me, I used to not have a rhythm for blogging and it's why I ended up stopping and quitting from it. But now, it's been working real well. I've básica been writing my reviews on my phone as soon as I finish a book or record myself. If I have an idea for a discussion I make a rough draft and then fix it on my free time. As for visiting blogs, I take like 30 minutes to an hour every day spreaded out to visit blogs and comment :)

    1. Thank you! I can't wait to read them -not sure when that will be, but I surely can't wait to read them. 😋 Thank you for sharing your tips. I really need to start using my phone to write down ideas and to put together reviews.

      Happy readings!😉

  2. You're not alone in needing to manage your time better... I'm right there with you.
I've been watching Stranger Things 3 and I'm not that far in but am a little underwhelmed so far... It's fun but it alternates between really fun and kinda boring too much at the moment.

The Stolen Enchantress cover is gorgeous!

    1. Why is it so difficult to manage time? 😕 Stranger Things 3 does have some slow moments, but I love the gang so much. Gosh, they are all so grow up now!!!

      Happy readings! 😉

  3. First of all, I hope you did something special to celebrate your birthday, and happy belated birthday to you! Your thesis is a pretty important thing. I can understand the blog not being your priority. Do what you can, because it's all you can do. The book tag is easier, if you cheat like me and have five responses ( that's the limit I gave myself) for every question. Thanks for sharing my post XOXO.

    1. Thank you, Sam. 😊 I'm not a birthday person, so there really wasn't a celebration. Hahah, I'll always and forever cheat when it comes to book tags. I think I may have to give myself the limit of five responses per prompt too.

      Happy readings! 😉

  4. Happy birthday! Sorry about the warm weather keeping you up :-/ It's actually kinda nice to not binge watch shows in just a few days because then you get to make it last longer!

    1. Thank you, Kristen. 😊 I quite enjoy making the shows last, but then I always stumble on spoilers. Gosh, why is it so hard to avoid spoilers?!

      Happy readings! 😉

  5. It can definitely be challenging to blog when you have so many other things going on in your life. Good luck with defending your thesis at the end of the month. Oh and Happy Belated Birthday!

  11. Belated happy birthday, lovely!!! 😍 I hope you had a fantastic day. And best of luck on your thesis!

I've been struggling to find time to read and blog as well (hence my random, long-ass hiatuses), but no pressure. Always put your real life first, and blog when you're able. We'll still be here for any content you put out. 😊

  13. Happy Belated Birthday!! I hope you celebrated and got lots of books. ❤️ Stolen Enchantress sounds really neat. The pied piper and Beauty and the Beast is a fascinating combination. And thank you so much for sharing my post. I actually just finished Stranger Things before getting on the computer... and I'm really sad about the last frames, I totally bawled!

It is hard to find time for blogging amid busy lives.
Both of your new books look fun to me. I like Beauty and Beast re-tellings.

  17. I may be a week late to commenting on this put I'm happy to have the update. A work/blog/study balance must be hard. I struggle to find free time and I've only got a job getting in the way. Hopefully you can find a little time for reading and blogging when you can. And I know I said it on Twitter but happy belated birthday, I hope you had a good day.
