Monthly Wrap-Up. February

Goodbye February! 😊 After a disastrous January, February was a month of plans and of getting better - I spent three weeks recovering from a very weird cold. Moreover, it was a month of change as you can see by my new blog template. What do you think? This is one of the many changes that you will see through the year. After all, in October I will celebrate my tenth blogging anniversary & I decided it's time to give a little bit more love to my blog.

This month in my life:

🌻 To give this corner a little bit more love, I also decided to contact a few publishers.

🌻 I'm slowly going through my reading pile. I read four books so far and I'm hoping to finish one more.

🌻 I submitted one of my essays to an academic magazine. Now, my wait begins. 😋 Please, keep your fingers crossed. 

🌻 My job hunting quest isn't going very well, although I did receive an offer, but I'm too penniless to accept it. Anyway, I'm not losing hope. If you hear something about proofreading, revision, writing, and/or Portuguese translation freelance works, would you mind sharing with me? Thank you.

🌻 I've also been thinking about doing beta reading to gain experience, but I'm not sure where to start...

• I reviewed The Will and the Wilds by Charlie N. Holmberg and Woven the Moonlight by Isabel Ibañez. I may get back to them and share a few more details because I feel they are too short and don't actually convey all my feelings about these books.

• I finally shared my can't wait books of 2020. It's a very long list, so you may find something you are also excited about and we can't survive the wait together. I confess it could be a lot longer if some covers had already been released. Or if I had seen Category Five by Ann Dávila Cardinal sooner. How did I miss it?!

 Don't be scared for my bank account. I spent less than ten euros on all of these pretty books. First, I did go on a request spree over NetGalley. Many were denied, but look at the books I got my hands on. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO THE PUBLISHERS & AUTHORS FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY! 😭 I'm very excited about Incendiary by Zoraida Córdova and Feathertide by Beath Cartwright. As mentioned a thousand times before, I want to read more picture and children's books. Snow White and the Seven Robots by Stewart Ross and American as Paneer Pier by Supriya Kelkar seemed an excellent pick.

Second, I bought I Love You So Mochi by Sarah Kuhn (I've been eyeing this book since I saw it over at Sam's blog), Geekerella & Princess and the Fangirl by Ashley Poston, The Epic Crush of Genie Lo by F.C. Yee and The Shape of My Name by Nino Cipri  for less than two euros at Kobo store.
